Thank you for your interest in the NCAR Clinical Training Seminar on Scaffolding the Brain: A Neurobiological Approach to Observation, Assessment, and Intervention. The Scaffolding the Brain series is an advanced clinical training program on the use of a neurobiological evidenced informed brain-based scaffolding called Integrative Regulation Therapy (iRT, Newton, 2009, 2013, 2017, 2020, 2021). All training includes interactive teaching using didactic, video review, experiential practice, role plays, case presentations, reflective practice, and group discussion. This eight-month training program occurs once a month on a Thursday/Friday beginning in September. Please refer to the current flyer for the specific dates.

Enrollment is done on a first come first serve basis and is capped at 6-8 participants. Please note that your slot is not guaranteed until you have received an acceptance email from NCAR Training Seminars AND your tuition fee is paid. Some applicants may be invited to an interview prior to acceptance.

Specific learning objectives for each seminar day will be given at the time of the training but can be given prior to the training upon request.

Tuition

Scaffolding the Brain is an advanced clinical training program incorporating the neuroscience of attachment into clinical work. Although there are no Continuing Education units provided, each completing participant receives a Certificate of Completion displaying units that can be used for California Endorsement as Early Childhood Mental Health Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist. You are not enrolled until you receive an official acceptance email that CV/resume, application, and fees have been received. All fees must be paid one month prior to the training.

Lunch Options

Lunch is on your own. There are many restaurants close by in Mission Valley. NCAR has a microwave and full-size refrigerator should you choose to bring your lunch.
